The Town of Bluffton's committee that doles out local taxes on inn, hotel and motel accommodations to organizations for promoting tourism and attracting visitors here just found the pie a little more difficult to slice.
The year-long economic downturn has caused a 10 percent shortfall in accommodations tax (also known as A-tax or bed tax) revenue in the Town of Bluffton in this most recent quarter, ending Sept. 30, according to A-tax committee members and town officials.
